More employers have adopted family friendly practices and offer employees arrangements such as part-time work or staggered working hours to help them deal with personal and family commitments.
A Ministry of Manpower study of 3410 employers revealed that 33.4% provide at least one form of family-friendly arrangement, up from 28.1% in 2008. Of the arrangements, part time work of less than 35 hours per week was the most common, followed by staggered work hours (6.5%), flexi-time (6.3%), tele-working (2.8%) and job sharing (0.6%).
