Is Singapore the most expensive city in the world?

Well, that depends on which study you look at.  The Economist Intelligence Unit reports that Singapore is the most expensive city in the world, where the cost of car ownership is high, and where clothes along Orchard Road are priced 50% higher than in New York.  However, other studies suggest otherwise, shown below.

Within South East Asia though, there seems to be a bit more consensus, at least when it comes to naming the most expensive country in the region.

Definitely something to think about when deploying people across countries for work.
