The Workplace Safety and Health Council has been working with representatives from the construction, manufacturing, and marine sectors to draft a new law to make working at heights safer for all workers. Under the proposed new law, companies will require a permit for workers to work more than 2m above ground. They also need to develop fall protection plans and to identify hazards to safeguard employees working at height.
The draft law has been put online at www.reach.gov.sg. Members of the public have until 10 October 2012 to give feedback. Download the draft law here
