The Ministry of Health and the Singapore Dental Council have launched a probe into an Australian dentist who has been practicing here despite being banned in his home country.
Dr George Pegios was found guilty of professional misconduct in his treatment of seven patients of which one had died. He was de-registered by a New South Wales professional tribunal for a minimum of 5 years.
Dr Pegios was granted conditional registration from July 13 until end Dec 2010 under a fictitious name of “George Powers”. It is understood that Dr Pegios may have withheld information in his application.
